The Cleveland Monsters hockey players and staff participated in Movember to help raise awareness for Men’s Health issues (clevelandmonsters.com/movember). Social media was used to drive fundraising efforts along with in-arena marketing and the November 26, 2016 Mullets and Movember Night themed game.
The $7,426 total was the largest amount the team has raised for the Movember Foundation.

The “Mo You Know” Fact series helped raise awareness to Men’s Health Issues along with fundraising.
The #MonstersOpener Countdown lasted 30 days from September 14th 2016– October 14th 2016. Fans were encouraged to print their own signs (downloadable from clevelandmonsters.com) and take photos to share how they are counting down the days to the #MonstersOpener. Winning fans may have their photos chosen and featured on the Monsters website. (10) Winners received Cleveland Monsters gear and 2 tickets to Opening Night at The Q.
Monsters players, staff, entertainment teams, and other personalities participated throughout the countdown. Each day, at least one photo of a #MonstersOpener sign in the Cleveland community was featured on team social media accounts.
The momentum from #MonstersOpener then carried into the opener festivities where fans wished the Monsters luck and shared their photos from the day using the hashtag

This video series ran on the Lake Erie Monsters website and social channels during their 2016 Calder Cup Playoff run. I shot, edited, and distributed the videos on the day of the game.
Cleveland’s Lake Erie Monsters will make their first home appearance of the 2016 American Hockey League’s Calder Cup Playoffs Saturday, April 23rd at 7:00 p.m at Quicken Loans Arena when they take on the Rockford IceHogs in game three in their best-of-five game first-round series. After a strong regular season showing at home, Monsters players have high expectations for their first taste of playoff hockey at The Q.
On Saturday, April 23rd, the Lake Erie Monsters defeated the Rockford IceHogs by a final score of 5-3 to claim the team’s first Calder Cup Playoff series victory in franchise history, three games to none. With the win, the Monsters advanced to the best-of-seven game Central Division Finals vs. the winner of the Grand Rapids Griffins’ and Milwaukee Admirals’ first-round series.
